National Patient Safety Awareness Week will be March 9-15, 2025. This is a national program to help improve patient safety at the local level. Hospitals and healthcare organizations across the country are encouraged to plan activities during this week to support patient safety within their community. These activities are designed to help promote consumer involvement in their own healthcare and safety. For example, your hospital might hold an open house for patients and families on a particular safety topic such as taking medicines safely. The hospital also might hand out wallet cards to keep track of your medicines. Check with your local hospital and community groups to see what activities are scheduled for the week.
